'The Day John Met Paul' has been awarded silver in the Music Special category. The judges said "The imaginative use of archive material was combined with contextual interviews to recreate the origins of the major musical phenomenon of the twentieth century at a Liverpool church fete. It was not only highly informative, but also profoundly touching in its unaffected presentation of such a momentous narrative."

"BBC Radio 2 is pleased to announce that it will be broadcasting two shows live from NXNE 08. Bob Harris, who had to postpone his visit to the festival last year due to ill health, will be presenting his Bob Harris Country and Bob Harris Saturday show live from Toronto. The Saturday show will feature highlights from the festival including a special evening dedicated to some of Bob's favourite Canadian acts. Al Booth, executive producer at BBC Radio 2 says, 'We're all thrilled at being able to attend the festival again this year. Last year we made some great programmes which included sessions and interviews with artists appearing at the festival, and highlights from the fantastic night at Lee's Palace, featuring artists like Blue Rodeo, Kathleen Edwards, Justin Rutledge and Ron Sexsmith. It's fantastic that Bob can make it this year, and it gives us the chance to immerse ourselves even more in the NXNE experience and convey the excitement of the Canadian music scene to the British audience.'"

Bob has been honoured with a fellowship of the University of Northampton.
