A class session from the Rival Sons Bob. Add to cart the new album for the Jordan song. Hope they keep it as basic as your session on the album.

Haha, as the intro to the Joe Bonamassa track started I thought "huh? I'm sure Bob said Joe was next up!" :-)"

Cheers

Another mp3 only purchase which I quite like from Chelle Rose - Ghost Of Bolder Holler. Have also checked her website and there's no cd available, just the download. It's the same with Gabrielle Alpin. What do they sell at gigs then? Maybe I need to drag myself into the present but I really don't want to buy mp3 but there's a lot of stuff I fancy at the moment only available in this format.

Oustanding show last night with 2 quite superb sessions. Think I'll need to catch up on some of my missing Chuck Prophet cd's this week. Didn't jump a track on the show playback (Stone Roses included)and will probably play it again before it's wiped off at the end of the week. This is by far the best show on radio for me

Haven't caught up with last night's show yet. I really enjoyed the Woody Guthrie centenary feature last week, and that Bob Dylan 'Song to Woody' (or for Woody, can't remember). Great show altogether

I hadn't heard Blind Atlas before and liked them.

Thank you. Really appreciated. Garland Jeffreys and Nell Bryden next weekend, both outstanding. Garland and I explore the roots of Rock 'N' Roll.
Bob.

Just catching up with first part of the Sunday show. Bob H. said last week someone was standing in for him, but still find it strange hearing the wrong person despite the warning!

Although Gideon Coe is fine it just isn't at all the same listening.

Just enjoyed hearing The Band The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and George Harrison Here Comes the Sun.

Last week's show was great.

Really like the sound of Phantom Limb. Yolanda Quartey can really belt it out. Another great session Bob. Will have to get their cd's and try to go and see them live.

Didn't know that Plainsong had a new album out so I've given it a quick listen. Have always loved OLD MAN AT THE MILL. Great band, so looking forward to this session. Add to cart new album.

He continues his stellar solo career as well as working as a member of the band "Plainsong" Along with Dutch guitarist Ad Vanderveen and Eliza Gilkyson, Iain is also part of the songwriting collective More Than A Song. UTR Records, the licensing branch of Binky records, signed both Iain Matthews and Ad Vanderveen in late 2002. February 2003 saw the U.S. release of More Than A Song.

Rumble Doll is a truly great album - Valerie is my favourite track. Oddly perhaps (under the circumstances) although the whole thing sounds as though it might have been written and produced by Bruce Springsteen, as far as I can tell he had nothing to do with it at all.

'Rumble Doll' is a massive favourite of Emmylou Harris.
Talking to her about the album is what prompted me to play a track.
Bob.

Nice one Bob. Johnny Walker used to play Valerie almost every other week, although I haven't heard it for a while now.

Following on, somewhat obliquely, to the conversation about collaborative songwriting during the splendid Sunday show session with Chris While & Julie Matthews, I went to see King Creosote last week (it was very good - thanks for asking) and he introduced a song co-written with Heidi Talbot, something along the lines of;
'Heidi wrote the melody and I wrote the lyrics. I changed some of the melody and Heidi changed it back. She changed some of the lyrics and I changed them back. So that's collaboration - neither of us liked it!'
