Just like the BBC to lull you into a false sense of security and then do this...I'm willing to bet that we don't get this week's show on iPlayer

I know this is slightly OT, but I'm presently listening to last night's show from our Humax. This is a piece of kit I highly commend to the house. You can just tell it to record "the series" - in this case Bob's show - and it does it every week, like, forever, so you don't even need to remember to programme it. Obviously designed for TV programmes but works just as well on radio.

I'll take that bet Les

The file certainly exists now and is in the usual place and has all the normal pointers as I've fired it up via the iPlayer plug-in on my Squeezebox set up.

I suspect they may just have had some issues earlier and are catching up but haven't sorted the indexing on the BBC site yet.

Cheers

You can do the same on Sky+/SkyHD boxes - you just have to set a manual recording, selecting channel 0102, and set it to repeat weekly. One day they may get with it and add full radio listings to the EPG.

I use a gadget called Radio Downloader - you can subscribe to any programmes on iPlayer and they will automatically be downloaded onto your PC and converted to an mp3. For me this means that I can play the programme in Media Center which has a much more usable interface than iPlayer.

...of course it has to be on iPlayer...still can't see it

It's working on the iPlayer app on the iPad, so I guess it's just the web site and anything that feeds off that source that's the problem.

Radio Downloader is excellent, I also used that until I got my Squeezebox.

Just checked at home and all seems to be functioning via iPlayer now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b01bw7g3

Nicely in time for my one day off on Monday!

Quit complaining! I love the iPlayer and very seldom have any technical problems with it.

Hah! I was just watching iPlayer sitting there doing nothing at all part way through The Herring Girl and checked out the Radio Downloader folder and it had caught up! Now I can listen properly...good old iPlayer can't even work over a 24meg broadband link

The great thing about Radio Downloader is that if you are an iTunes and iDevice user, and set the download to save to the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder, it just gets added to your itunes and syncs to your devices without you having to do any more.

Once you have a show in itunes, set your iDevice to sync the Radio 2 artist, and then just make sure you always leave at least one show on iTunes so that the "artist" doesn't disappear from the sync list before the next show is delivered.

Cheers

Clever trick with saving to the "Automaticaly add to iTunes" folder Ken, good idea!

Of course, as a true devotee I first like to chop it in to 3 x 1 hour parts and edit the news out....
