Just heard these lyrics on a Virgin Media programme trailer 'I'll be with you till the morning comes. I am staying till the morning comes.' Couldn't find an exact match when googling. It sounds Johnny Cashish but isn't. Anyone help?
On a different subject nice to see a Bob fan win a bit of money on last night's Chase particularly as the programme is so heavily weighted against the contestants.
Unfortunately not, the song has a more contemporary feel and the singer a deeper voice. I think I have to hope I hear the clip again and can get another line.
This wasn't driving me mad until you asked the question again, I've never heard the trailer but having a quick search it does seem to be bothering a lot of people. Someone even posted a sound file on istockphoto, http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-audio-8825495-til-the-morning-comes.php which contain the lyrics on your link and it does sound like Johnny Cash (although there is and audio watermark that also drives you mad) but is this the song from the trailer, or a red herring :)
Good luck, I'm now going to try and forget it before I go insane too late
Dave
Just a thought, as iStockphoto is a stock library, maybe this is just a sound a like and not a licensed Johnny Cash song.
Thanks for posting that link, definitely that song and makes me want it even more now. Much, much too good not to be released. Not sure what more I can do - Virgin would not be any use even if you could contact them which is easier said than done.
As mentioned iStockphoto is a stock library for photo's, images and sounds too, so I imagine this track is a sound a like and licensed to them. You can download it from there, though £100+ is a bit steep for one song. As PaulyC says the more he listens the more it's unlikely to be Johnny Cash and I can't imagine that any unreleased track attributed to JC hasn't already been mentioned on the net and only found in a stock library.

let's get this straight, peeps. AFAICS It's not 'found' in a stock library, someone has posted it there so people can hear it and perhaps identify the song. The £100 appears to be their standard fee to download anything.
Anyway, that's off topic. Does ANYONE know what the song is?
Are you suggesting this an actual signed artist with a track from an actual CD - we just don't know who or what it is? That said this is the whole song and the trailer I heard was much shorter? Surely you can't produce something this good and remain unknown - if it isn't JC I am pretty sure he wouldn't have minded the song in his catalogue.
No joy at all on the above. Now trying to find another countryish song from an advert - unfortunately too busy getting the lyrics and didn't get note what it was for but the lyrics are:-
walking down that old country lane drops of rain fall upon the ones who call your name
See if this helps you finally nail down Til the Morning Comes - on another forum it's attributed to Michael Ray Cain on searching deeper finds it here on this collection, all be it a slightly different and shorter version, track 8 (under a different name)
I'm just the messenger, so don't shoot me and pure supposition on my part, maybe this is a service for stock music for films and TV, so it may not be commercially available
So strange however it may be, it's possible that that song was supplied for stock use. Sounding very much like a Johnny Cash it would be a lot cheaper to use that track than an original JC song, it now seems to have now grabbed peoples attention, which could be good for Mr Cain

Thanks for not giving up.
Unfortunately, for some reason I am unable to play the clip to confirm.
Played a few clips off CDBaby and wouldn't have been able to tell that it was the same person.
Did another google search and there was a download with the name 'Sonny Ray'?
Yes, for once I did notice. Presumably, he will get the chance to do a couple of songs - for him and me I hope one of them is 'Someone Told Me' but unfortunately I suspect he might choose newer songs.
Sad to say much as I expected. If that was the song on the advert I don't think I would have taken much notice - the song didn't really showcase his voice at all - just another kid playing a guitar.
I had almost given up but yesterday I did a google search and came up with the bandmix link that Dave provided above - sorry Dave I must have overlooked it first time around. From that link I sent an email to Michael and he very kindly sent a very prompt reply including an mp3 of the track. I don't think I have been more pleased to obtain a record.
Michael was extremely appreciative of the lengths people had gone to in order to find the record. If anyone else would like the track please contact him directly at Mrcreckoning@aol.com.
