The Royal Albert Hall has been at the heart of my musical life for more than half a century.

Whether arriving through the grand main entrance or the iconic stage door, I’ve visited this glorious venue countless times. From Cream’s farewell performance in 1968 to the BBC Proms in 2022, I have loved spending time here. It is a very special place and I remain, to this day, awestruck by the magnificence of the building, the beauty of the auditorium and the attention to detail that makes the Royal Albert Hall one of the most acoustically accurate venues in the world.

In 1994 Bob featured as the subject of Danny Baker’s series, “Heroes of Television”.

The show was broadcast on BBC2 as part of the music programme The Old Grey Whistle Test with the audio later broadcast on BBC Radio 1. Whistle Test presenter Bob Harris introduced the band onstage and later recalled that Queen "were in party mood at the Hammersmith Odeon that night".

Bob’s classic interview with the former Beatles was recorded in New York in March 1975 and broadcast on the Old Grey Whistle Test on 18th April that year.

The November 1973 issue of “Music Scene” magazine featured privileged access to the studios of BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test.

Bob Harris gave a tour and interview to journalist Rodney Marlowe accompanied by photographer Dezo Hoffman.
