Legendary broadcaster 'Whispering Bob' Harris speaks to Headliner about the 2022 C2C (Country 2 Country) music festival at the O2 in London, the genre's 21st century boom and his new BBC Radio 2 series celebrating its most exciting new talent.

In March, Radio 2 Celebrates Country offers listeners a feast of country music. As the official broadcast partner of C2C Country to Country, the biggest country music festival in Europe, the network broadcasts from backstage at the festival in London’s O2 Arena with two shows. On Saturday 12 March (3pm-6pm), host of Radio 2’s The Country Show (Thursdays, 9pm), Bob Harris, introduces highlights from the festival.

Bob will be sitting in on BBC Radio 2 for his great friend Johnnie Walker on ‘Sounds of the 70’s’ on 16th and 23rd January.

BBC broadcaster Bob Harris is back on commercial radio next year with a new series of shows on Boom Radio.

Whispering Bob will be charting the history behind genres and styles through music lineage and artist relationships.

On 19th October 2021 Bob was honoured to be awarded The Oldie magazine’s “Poptastic Oldie of the Year” by Camilla Duchess of Cornwall at The Savoy in London.

The twice covid-postponed “Backstage Pass” tour finally sprung into life last night, 18 months after its original start date, in front of an enthusiastic and appreciative audience at The Lowry Theatre in Salford.

Bob was delighted this morning to discuss the forthcoming series of events on Radio 2’s celebration of Country Music in lieu of the postponed C2C: Country to Country festival.

The immersive media, music and entertainment district known as Outernet is set to open in central London in winter 2021. A 2,000 capacity venue, the return of the 12 Bar Club and a further intimate live space will open at the Denmark Street site.
